Announcements: April 24: Lessons resume this week, and continue through June 22. Invoices for Spring Term will be sent out sometime this week. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Policies
- Practice
- All students are expected to practice on a weekly basis 5-6 days per week.
- The amount of daily practice should equal or exceed the length of the student's lesson. This means a student with a half-hour lesson should practice 30 minutes a day/5-6 days per week.
- This policy exists so we all understand the expectations for progress.
- Any student who follows the above recommendations should expect to see consistent progress.
- Attendance
- Students are allowed 1 excused absence per trimester term, and 1 excused absence during the summer term.
- Once a student exceeds the maximum excused absences per term, future missed lessons will be forfeited (not "made up").
- Choose your absences wisely.
- Lesson times are chosen for the entire academic year, and cannot be changed. Please take athletics, drama, and other activities into consideration when choosing your lesson time.
- In the case of teacher cancellation, all efforts will be made to make up the missed lesson. When a teacher-cancelled lesson cannot be made up, you will receive a credit on your next invoice or a refund.
- A minimum of 24 hours' notice of absence, whenever possible, is courteous for both teacher and student.
- Unexcused Absences
- In addition to absences beyond the allotted excused, any missed lessons that occur with no prior notice will be forfeited.
- Termination of Lessons
- Due to the constraints of childcare and scheduling, no refunds will be issued if a student chooses to discontinue lessons during the term. The decision to "quit" should be made before tuition is paid.
- Communication
- See the Contact Information to the left
- Email is always the preferred method of communication.
- Any concerns that arise during the term can be handled in conversation or email. In other words, students/parents should let me know if they are struggling, not challenged, bored, want to play other music, etc.
